There’s nothing quite like a glass of lavender lemonade on a warm summer day—crisp, floral, and perfectly refreshing. This recipe became one of our biggest hits at the farmers market this year. We served it to hundreds of people, and the reactions were almost always delight. Lavender has a way of surprising people in the best possible way, and paired with bright lemon, it turns into a drink that feels both soothing and energizing.
If you prefer that soft, summery purple hue, there’s an easy trick: simply steep a little purple cabbage in your water or hydrosol before mixing. The color is absolutely beautiful—vibrant and all-natural—and it doesn’t add a cabbage flavor at all. However you make it, this lavender lemonade is simple, refreshing, and guaranteed to charm a crowd, just like it did all summer long.
Now, you can make your own lemonade. But the beauty of using hydrosol (rather than a lavender simple syrup) is that you can just add it straight to any store-bought lemonade. We prefer Milo's or Simply Lemonade because they have no artificial ingredients. Start by adding 1/4 teaspoon per cup of lemonade then adjust to taste!
